Driveshaft Rattle in 2000 taco, 2.7l

First post! Just recently acquired my first yota, a 2000 Tacoma with the 2.7 and 5 speed manual, 185K. Couldn't have been more pleased upon first inspection/test drive. But, after getting it home and slowly tuning in to all the various noises floating around the cab I began to hear a rattle coming from underneath the truck. After spending some time trying to pinpoint where it was coming from I discovered it was a noise that was traveling through and being amplified by the driveshaft. This was discovered by having a friend rev the engine to 2500 rpm while in neutral. So, without the drivetrain even being engaged, this noise is traveling through the driveshaft. When driving, I hear the noise when the rpm is in the 2300-3000 range. After sifting through the forum pages here at yotatech and elsewhere, I feel like I am still worlds away from having a clear diagnosis of what is causing the noise. Driveshaft ujoints seem to be in good shape, very little play in the driveshaft when tugging and pulling in all directions. All driveshaft zerks are well greased. The noise seems to go away for about a week after greasing the double cardan joint, but always returns. I will try to include a sound file of the noise. These forums have been an incredible resource thus far and any input is welcome! Also, PO had recently (about a year ago?) installed a 2" lift with new front coil springs and all new leaf springs from Old Man Emu. He did not upgrade the stock shocks, either front or rear, and he did not install axle shims. I'm wondering if the pinion angle was altered just enough to cause the rattle I'm hearing? I ordered 2 degree shims from toytech but I was unhappy with the design and will be sending them back and ordering a set from 4crawler. Elders, please educate me!!

I have the reg cab that came with the 2 jointed drive shaft (no center bearing). Sorry I should have included that info.
