I was on my way to work today when my drag link went out! DOH!

does anyone know where to get a replacement besides the dealer? the dealer wants $156 for it!

On your '91? You don't have a drag link on the '91. Do you mean one of the tie rod ends, the pitman arm, idler arm, or the relay rod (center section that connects the pitman arm to the idler arm)?

ON CERTAIN PICKUP TRUCKS AND SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, IF THE STEERING WHEEL IS REPEATEDLY TURNED UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS WHERE HIGH STEERING EFFORT AND POWER ASSIST ARE REQUIRED, FOR INSTANCE, WHEN FULLY TURNING THE WHEEL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, A FATIGUE CRACK MAY DEVELOP IN THE STEERING RELAY ROD.

thats EXACTLY what happened! im on hold with Toyota right now and they are checking my vin to see if my truck falls under the recall.

So what broke?

Drag links and relay rods are two different things to me.
