Question A ? for Dr. Z... 7mm Magnecor wires

Dr. Z:

Do the 7mm Magnecor wires fit the stock wire looms? I was considering upgrading, but want to be confident that the Magnecors will fit the looms for a clean look.

Thanks,

Rick

It's a tight squeeze, but yeah they fit. If you buy the 8.5's, I am pretty sure they give you new wire separators.

Hope this helps.

Not to "poke my nose" in on this thread or anything, but I heard that plug wires touching is a bad thing. So, my concern would be for Dukestr's set-up. Yeah, I realize those are pretty heavily insulated wires, but they are touching, and I was told that can cause possible misfiring.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, I have no data to back this up. Its just something I heard.

You are correct sir! That can be a bad thing, especially on lesser wires. I'd use separators myself, but if the Duke isn't having any problems, he's probably ok. But if he starts getting misfires and other oddities, he knows where to look first!

Yup, this is also why you see wires "twisted" around each other at some point, in some engines. That helps to cut down on them interfering with each other. A bit less cosmetically appealing, but function over form I say. They still look sweet, even if they have to twist around (almost like a funky braid) at one point.
