Question downsize tires on '98 Tacoma

We bought our '98 Tacoma a couple of years ago. It came with BF Goodrich 32x11.5 RT15 LT All Terrain T/A tires on it. It has a lift kit installed. We're not as spry as we used to be and want to downsize the tires in both overall diameter and width and lower the chassis to make getting in and out easier. The tires now stick out a good two inches beyond the fenders. We'd like to bring them back in under the fenders. If we pull the lift kit, what tire size would you recommend to meet our goal. Thanks.

Does it give a tire size in the door jamb?
29" tall 225/75r15, or 31" tall 265/75r15 or 31/10.50-15?
All are shorter/narrower than what you have now. There are other options...

If the tires stick out that far then you have aftermarket wheels as well.

Ooh, good point! Could the p.o. have used adapters to accommodate for that extra inch of width instead which could account for the sticky outty look- or both even?

Pics would be nice (hint)...

i'm sure you could find someone locally with a stock truck who would be willing to "trade" Lots of people want what you have. Might be a good chance to get one with lower miles or less rust

Your truck also might have a body lift, and wheel spacers.

Rather than undo everything the previous owner did, it might be easier to sell that one, and replace it with a all-stock truck.
