Downeys and Bils are In!!!!!!
WoooooHOOOOO This set up rocks! Feels like a totally diffferent truck. I CAN'T believe the difference the Bils made in the ride! Also I got close to 2 inches in the rear lift and about 3/4" in the front. Truck rides like a truck should now!! Body roll is reduced it feels much more stable on the road and as for bumps there is simply NO COMPARISON !! I had the factory Yota shocks in the rear with 97K on them and on the front were some Gabriel Gas Ryder. When we pulled them off one you could bounce up and down with your hand like a pogo stick and the other was almost froze. You could move it in and out about 2inches and it was easier to do by hand than the old shot steering stabilizer I pulled out last weekend. From what I have driven it the ride does not seem to be harsh at all. It if definitly more firm but not harsh. I am thinking this is going to be my Favorite Mod so far! I am getting it muddy tomorrow and will form a solid opinion after a day of wheeling!! So far though I am Totally satisfied. Here's the pics!

Bils vs. 97K stock Yota shocks
Hmmm which ones would you want on your truck??
Downey's VS Stock
The New Set-up
The Before and After stick.... I used this to very clearly show the difference in heigth.
I will do a complete write up tomorrow with a lot more pictures of the specifics. It took a friend and I about 4 hours to do. We ran into a few snags but overall it was pretty easy. Having a lift and proper tools made it much more easy than it could have been.
Very Happy with this Mod!

Right on!
Looks very good Joey.
Though I have done a lot of mods to my rig, the Downey's and flares are still two of my favorites.
They dramatically change the altitude and attitude of a rig.
It should feel a lot nicer now, especially in corners.
Enjoy your new height status :xmas7:

Congrats!!
Did you do anything to the panhard rod in back? In your 7th pic it looks like its got some angle to it. How is your driveshaft to fueltank clearance? Does the rear axle stick out slightly to the right now?
Enjoy !

Is it time for some 32's?
Anyone have a good suggestion to get rid of the nasty rust that has formed underneath? Front is the same way.. I imagine I could rattle can it but it seems I would have to do alot of sanding or sandblasting for that to do much good.. I am open for ideas!!

Looks nice. How do you like driving in England with left hand drive? I did 6-mos of my training in Cambridge, England and really miss the place. The one thing I would have loved when I was there would have been to have my truck there with me. Anyways, good work on the install.

? about Bils
Just curious, this weekend I am going to go with this mod, Downey HD coils w/ spacer kit and SAW torsion bars. I heard so many good things about Bilsteins on this board so I plan on buying Bilstiens but don't know which model/series to get. Since its going to get a few inches in height I would have to get longe shocks compared to the stock ones right? I have a 93' 4runner.
Thanks in advanced for all of you advise's/comments.
