door buzzer/power locks
Hey guys,
Just bought me a 2001 Tacoma 4wd.
Since I bought it my door buzzer has not been working. If there is one but the power locks have been working perfectly.
(this issue started this morning) Now when I park my vehicle, remove the key and goto lock my doors, there is a chime going off constantly. It won't allow me to use my power locks, locks just pop back up. Only way I can lock my vehicle is with my key from the outside of door.
any ideas as to what is causing the problem?
it's an automatic, shift lever is in park, not in 4wd, light switch is turned off.
I've played with the passenger airbag disable switch, i've tried my seatbelts as well.
Kinda at a loss as to what to do here???
any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It seems like the unlock warning switch is stuck closed so your chime sounds and the doors wont lock because it sees the key as being still in the ignition
The door locks will then act just like you state.
Try spraying some spray lube on your key and into the lock cylinder to free it up.
If it is not that switch it could be some where in the integration relay
This should get you started.
