Did you see the link I posted in the post #40?

Looks like the AC pulley is completely off? Yes?

Is the rust on the adjusting bolt threads the problem? Have you hit the adjuster with a penetrating oil like PB Blaster? Can your remove the adjuster bolt completely and use a brass brush to knock the junk off the threads?

Yep that is the DIY I have been using so far. I took off the pulley so that I can may be push it down like the bearing on the TB
I have hit it with PB (the spots in pics) and I am going to tap it with a mallett.

Will be back in few

Yes, likely so. It's the pulley on the AC bracket with a 14mm? nut on the front and the adjuster bolt coming up from the bottom....i.e pic 100_3297.

http://www.nwtoys.com/forum/tech-art...ng-belt-4.html post 40 is what you are dealing with on the AC adjustment pulley

You might consider slipping the belt out of the way to the PB does not hit it too much.

I though that may have been PB I was seeing.

Good news, all belts are on, took a few light taps with a pry bar that fit perfectly, now I need to verify some of the torques again, tension all the belts, fillup and give it ago

About 70 now but it has been cloudy and in high 80s... not terrible yet, I hate the pollen season the most, 6000-8000 ppm everyday, its like pixie dust

BTW I have a very clean garage floor as the prestone and the water is leaking through the thermostat housing, as I was filling up the radiator, had not even started the engine yet.. I think take it out and re-seat the seal and the thermostat and try my luck again in the morning

Its late and I got to hit the deck...battered but not beaten

My kit did not come with a gasket that goes between the water pump and the thermostat housing, there was a black color rubber seal that was seated and the thermostat went inside it, do I need some type of rtv?

No gasket or RTV is needed on the thermostat housing to water pump surface (at least it's this way for the AISIN brand OEM water pump Toyota supplies).

The thermostat gasket should have a slight groove in its inner rim and it slips around the outer rim of the thermostat. So, the gasket and thermostat are installed as an assembly and not as two separate parts. Is this how you assembled it?

I'm an allergy sufferer too. I do a lot of my work early morning while its cool and before the wind comes up. A garage beats working outside for sure.

morning buddy, thermostat is fixed but now it seems I have a leak around the WP, I am going to take the timing cover off and take a look.

I thought that I was close but darn it, I may have to get it towed to our mechanic if I have to take everything apart, as I cannot leave the garage like this

I'm bummed with ya. Good idea to pull the cover back and take a look. Do you have a oil cooler and did that hose get connected to the WP?

So she is up and running......no leaks, I drove around the neighborhood and no noises, or anything....THANK YOU, THANK YOU

In all the excitement I had forgotten to close the engine drain plug, atleast I have a very clean engine block and a very dirty garage

I cannot thank you enough, although I got two buddies in Portland area and I would love to go to crater lake sometime again, there are no immediate plans to visit the area. Please do hit me up if you are visiting the Atlanta area.

Woohoo!!!!!!! Glad it was something that simple. Give yourself a huge pat on the back!

Please do stay active around the forum here.

If I ever get down there I'll let you know. I'm about 85 miles east of Portland. Do the same if you get out here.
