Yea, I need to decide my own line and then tell the spotter where to guide me. I have done well with that method until now.

Anyway, I truely don't know where we where in relation to where we wheeled together before. I can tell you we drove for ever to get there and I was really suprised that it was still in the GWNF. We went through Charletsville VA where I blew up the bathroom in a donut shop, you know I can't pass those up. Then I think we went thought a town called Madison, but I could be wrong. If you pop in on the VA Chapter of Tacoma Territory and go to the forum you can ask them. I just followed them in and suprisingly we all ended up in trail on the Skyline Drive as we approached the forest. There is no way we could of planned to to meet like that from all over if we tried.

Are you going to the EC4RJ??

The CV axles are not hard to replace. Knock the cap off the hub, remove the axle nut, then undo the 4 bolts that hold the lower ball joint to the lower arm and pull the hub assembly away from the truck enough to disengage the axle shaft, then use a pry bar and pry the axle out of the diff just a tad and it slips out the rest of the way. Then put the new one in in reverse order. It is not a bad job at all. That is going to be my weekend project.

I have been shopping all around for the best deal on replacement axle shafts. I bought two, one to put in and one as a spare.

Well that sucks. I was hoping you would depart some of the expert wheeling tutelage on me so I could someday wheel as well as you.

had your spotter had you turn your wheels toward the drivers side instead of the other way , i think you would have been able to climb over the rock , but maybe not , i couldnt see what was o nthe other side (passenger) but if you would have truned to the left , it would have practically walked itself up the rock.

jsut my 2 cents

Be careful not to knock to axle in too far and damage the seal when re-installing it. That's what Sandman and I did on his. Then it leaked. Then we had to replace the seal and do it again with a little more finesse.
