X2 on the Costco mats. paid under $20 for a 4 piece set. had them for about 2 years. they've seen some hard Chicago winter weather. for what you guys are paying for "premium" mats, I can buy a new set every 3-4 years.

If you look at the Husky's and WT's, they fit right up to the kick panel and around all sides making them less likely to be out of place, which means you keep your factory mats cleaner.
So if you have very limited budget, Costco won't let you down. But if you can afford them, I'd spring for the WT or Husky's.

I've been asked to update this thread since having ordered a new set of mats, so here goes:
The decision came down to WeatherTech and Husky Liners. Since everyone seems to be split down the middle on which liner is the best, I just ordered a set of both to compare . Figured I'll return the set I did not want.
Having run each liner for a week, I decided on the WeatherTechs. Don't get me wrong, the Huskys are a good quality liner...it just came down to personal preference. IMO, the WeatherTechs have a much better fit and feel over the Huskys. I also like that the rear WT liner is a one piece mat and not 2 seperate pieces like the Husky.
(Oh and just for reference, the WT logo on the front liners is just a sticker...it can be removed if need be.)
Here's a few photos of both installed. Granted, the Husky would have looked better in black, but I wanted to see them in grey:
ORIGINAL OEM MATS:
DRIVER SIDE:
PASSENGER SIDE:
REAR:
OVERALL:
Hope this makes the decision easier for someone else looking to purchase a net set of liners . Either way, I'm just glad to be out of those oem rubber mats.

So it appears that only the WT's use an anchor on the driver's side, and then only one but better than none I suppose. The WT's certainly look like a better fit with fewer gaps.
No doubt the WT's seem more protective than OEM, but I'll stick with the double-anchor system on Toyota mats.
Thanks for the pics and writeup.

The 3rd gen 4Runner oem mats do not have a double anchor system. They only have one just like the WTs.
Trust me, WTs are made to install just like oem. If the 4Runner had a double anchor system, these mats would too.

The Husky ones are crap. We always see them in work trucks that come in for service. For some reason the older they get the more they start to curl and warp. They end up just curling up and getting in the way

Here's better pics and cleaner of my OEM mats that are over 4 years old and are in great shape and no cracking or drying at all but I am really giving the WT version a good looks since those appear to fit the best.
I like the look but they don't offer too much protection from slush in the winter.

Welldone,
I have always said that you get what you pay for. I have the Weather techs in my 97. they have seen some pretty crappy conditions..They are still going strong..
You have done well. they look great good luck!!

reviving an old thread i know.. but winter season is just creeping around the corner and i need mats for my surf!
those weathertechs look AWESOME!!
unfortunatley.. they dont make them for a 2nd gen runner
but.. looking at pics of the 3rd gen ones, the floor looks very similarly shaped to the 2nd gen? any one have a 3rd gen 4runner with a set of the Weathertech Digital Fit mats want to throw them in a buddy's 2nd gen and take a pic of how they fit?

The Costco mats are good for the price, $20. Iv'e had them for 2 years and they still look new. Only drawback is that you have to trim them to fit around the dead pedal foot support.

These don't offer the coverage of the Huskys but I've had these in for about 5 years and really no wear on them at all and underneath they still look brand new. I got these and a new set of the carpeted version for $70 from a member here;the carpeted versions still have yet to be used.

The weather tech is a fine looking floor mat it actually looks better than the Huskeys.
I have the had Huskeys installed since the vehicle was new (95) and they are holding up just fine.
One problem with the Huskeys though is they interfere with the gas pedal travel.
