Angry Disconnected Battery, now 5VZFE idles LOW!

I planned on washing the Yota today and I ran into a problem.

I Disconnected the battery before I decided to wash mainly because, my Pass Side front turn signal lens is cracked.

So I finish washing it, and give it 5-10mins to further dry. Connect the battery and turn the ignition to on. Everything seems to be in working order. Now I crank the engine and it started a little rough, and idles @ 350 rpms or so.

What did I do wrong? Is there some sort of security sequence I was suppose to follow for engine to not act like that?

I go to give it a lil gas it the engine raises in rpms fast then drops and stutters a bit back to 350rpms.

A video is going to be uploaded of the engine running real soon for reference.

Please any info is appreciated!!!

EDIT: should I try doing the ECM RESET MEMORY FUNCTION?

How do I go about doing that?

Also I read in the Online Toyota brochure that:
NOTE: On some vehicles, the alarm will sound when the battery
is reconnected. Also, clocks and radio station presets will have
to be reset after battery is reconnected (refer to your vehicle's
Owner's Manual for instructions).

How do I reset the clocks and radio station presets on my truck???

F(_)CK!

Now the truck won't want to turn over!

The spark plugs need to be change but I dont think It's causing this problem!
I mean I was just driving it around town fine less than 3 hours ago!

no.... you did reset the ecu disconnecting the battery.
it was just a wild guess. i dont know if that actually had anything to do with your idle problems.

yeah you will lose all your presets on your radio and clock. all you have to do is change the time back and re program your preset radio stations.

I'm pretty positive I did not get any water inside the airbox.

It never had any idle problems prior to me washing the truck and disconnecting the battery. . .

How much time does it take to readjust the ECM
“Learned Values"
It's suppose to do this automatically??

I don't think any ignition related component got wet, but I will double check them all in the mourning.

I mean It was cranking over and starting but with a low-idle just a couple minutes ago. I hate it how things can go down hill real fast!

any other ideas?

Guesses here, but try cleaning your battery terminals, and double checking the ground. Also make sure your wires are still in good condition.
Maybe when you reconnected the battery a wire came loose (dissoveled if coorosion was present) or the dielectric grease that was on the outside of the connection got into the inside between the battery and the connector.

Make sure your battery terminal connections are unquestionably tight.

That happened with me when I put a new batery in my 2UZ-FE Tundra. It idled low and was somewhat of a concern, but its been a few months now and it seems to have worked itself out... Be patient

I hate having to resort to the "Just wait and hope it doesn't happen again" method.

Truck Cranks over again!

So I made sure the battery terminal cables are virgin tight.

It took me two cranks but it started on the second one.
I'm uploading the video at the moment, so all you yota-techers can check it first hand.

The spark-plugs are on top priority maintenance-wise!!

If you check out my idle in the video it actually seems like it adjusted itself somewhat.
(does anyone know the stock idle speed for the 3.4 V6 automatic?)

I appreciate everyone's input for current my situation!

Again I will double check EVERY LITTLE thing in mourning.

I only washed the exterior! But also note that my pass side front turn signal has a cracked lens, thus the reason for disconnecting the battery.

I loosened the negative terminal first and removed it. Then I did the same to the power terminal. When I reconnected the battery, I did the battery negative first then the power. But I recently read in the Online Toyota Brochure that the battery is suppose to be installed with power first then the negative second. . .

The video of the truck starting and idling is being uploaded at this second, so wait for the new post to view it. Thanks again for all the support!

May be worthwhile to have your battery tested if it's older.
