Difference between the SR5 and the Limited?
Hey Fellas,
I've owned a 2000 SR5 and really liked it. I am looking at a 2001 4runner limited. What is the difference between the two? I have read some mention of "all wheel drive mode" on these cars. I'm confused; if a 4runner is 4x4, can it also be considered "all wheel drive?" I had a rav4 at one time, and that was all wheel drive - it did ok, but not a real 4x4 system in my opinion. I tow a boat, which is why real 4x4 traction is important - getting it out of the water on the slippery ramps, etc.
Here is some information I found online:2001 Toyota 4Runner: 4Runner lost its base 4-cylinder models and manual transmission for 2001, but all models now had full-time 4-wheel-drive and an antiskid/traction-control system.
Thanks.
Joe

That's a great resource, plenty of good information posted there. I have often referred to it over the years. When I can't remember the URL, I find it on here:
