Did my clutch go out?
Driving out of a stop sign, as I went to shift in 2nd gear, the clutch sunk all the way to the floor board and didn't come back up. The 4Runner (88' 3.0)remained in 2nd gear as I coasted over to the side of the road. I can't get the truck out of gear or get the clutch to work. What the hell happened?

I had the same problem with my 88. Did some research and people said it was the clutch slave cylinder. Replaced that and still the pedal was on the floor. So I bought a rebuild kit for the clutch master cylinder, and that did the trick. rebuild kit was like $20 at autozone, I'd try that first. Make sure you bleed it when your done.
Look at where the clutch pedal goes through the firewall, check for leaks, that could be a sign that your master is leaking.

Could be a blown hydraulic line( the one that goes from the reseviore to the slave). Mine blew out on the right side. Simple fix, just make sure you bleed it when you're done, otherwise the pedal will go right back to the floor.

the clutch hydraulics are pretty notorious for blowing out. i lost a clutch slave about 20 miles out in the sticks. it's a good thing to know how to drive a manual tranny with no clutch...
