Defeating the ADD system?

RE: http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/add/

Does anyone have experience with this method of "defeating" the add system described in the article? Does it work well? What is the best way to lock the sleeve in place (hose clamps)?
I know there are other methods to defeat the ADD, using a vac gun to move the actuator/sleeve or replacing the axle with a solid piece. I am looking for the easiest way to do this for light off roading/snow only.

I have manual hubs.

Thanks!

All you have to do is apply constant vacuum to the one side of the sleeve. Can't recall which one, for sure, but all I did was run a vacuum hose to the fitting and capped off the other one.

How and what constant vac line did you run to add actuator?

One of the ones that was originally hooked to the VSV. I just got a longer piece of vacuum line and ran it along the fender and down.

Either one is easy once you have it sitting in front of you. Having people explain it in text and no pictures is tough to visualize. Then you see it and it clicks. I have done both methods. Both are easy.

i welded the ring in to pace, then ditched the whole actuator and made a cover plate to bolt in its place, i didn't want to trust a worm clamp. been working grate ever sense.

So, my question is this, when your routing the lock side (passenger side) vacuum hose, can you just route it to the original ADD vacuum hose fitting, therefore bypassing the VSV's and vacuum tank? Does anyone have an engine bay picture of what their vacuum routing looks like?
