Overall a super easy job and no check engine light , thanks to the kind folks on the board! Took about an hour to complete and wow what a difference...especially when passing on a 2 laner! Thanks for the input my fellow runner freaks!

Lining with plastic...
Can't you just vacuum out the air filter box really well after cutting a hole in it and not worry about lining it with plastic?
I also saw where someone put a piece of screen on the deckplate mod so that no bugs or leaves can get sucked in there. Is that a good idea?
What about when it is raining outside and you are splashing through puddles? Should you put the deckplate back in on rainy days?

I didn't line my box with plastic, I just vacuumed it out really really good and wiped it out and vacuumed again. As far as the screen, Any bugs, etc that gets in will be caught by the filter. I will just check mine every fill up for bugs etc. Water should not get in during rain, but if you are going through deep water or deep puddles I would cover it up.

Just go to your local auto shop and they'll have it around. It's not hard to find.
Hole saw would have been nice but I used a Dremel-type and it worked out fine. Was harder than it could have been but I didn't mind
