well regardless of fault or anything at least everyone is still alive. The cat made it too. So all is well, i'm glad no one was seriously hurt.

Looks like it might work out in your benefit if you get a sports car and a 4runner.....

Thats my worst nightmare. Even though I know how to control my SUV and keep it on all 4's I can't control some other idiot out there that hits me on the freeway. It doesn't take much to flip an SUV on the freeway, no matter how good the driver. Its a compromise. SUV's are safer in some accidents but much more dangerous in others, like the one you had.

Werd! I'm more of a car guy than a truck guy, it's just that cars can't tow other cars...so you gotta do the best you can.

and yes I do take offense to an ignorant comment like that. I can drive and if I didn't think cruise was a good idea I wouldn't have had it on. One can draw NO conclusion that cruise control had any effect on the cause or outcome of that situation.
There's just too many instances to disprove your statement to start quoting here. Enough to say that your experience belies your experience.

I was unaware of your presence during the whole ordeal.

Count the blessings. Glad you're ok.

I had a small run-in with a puddle while in cruise today. The rain was on and off, and usually I take my foot off the gas if I feel it lift up or slide, and since It was in cruise, I couldn't react quick enough. I made it through fine with the fairly new Revo's, but it did start to slide around.
The puddle was short, and the tires are barely used so that helped, but it had me scared for a sec on the highway.

Why lecture the guy over this? Does it make anything better? Were you there to see every specific cause and effect?

Glad you're ok, man. Bottom line.

edit: 4 Runnin...I wasn't talking to you, just to clarify

Glad to hear your ok! Sucks about the 4runner, but it did do its job keeping you and your kitty safe, and unlike life, material things can always be replaced.

I just remembered this and had to add it in. Last summer during a moderate rainstorm, the guy in front of me hydroplaned and almost ran into me, finally came to rest on the other side of the guard rail. He was driving safely, going under the speed limit, all of a sudden he was spinning coming right towards me. Scared the crap out of both of us. Everyone was ok, but his car was totaled.

glad to hear both you and your pet are still on the green side of the grass. mother nature and some less experienced driver helped contribute to this situation. you may well know the physics of the rubber meeting the road, you were just schooled differently. no offensed intended, please dont take it that way. chalk it up as a new lesson learned. even the most experienced drivers get caught out once in a while.

No offense taken. Lesson learned for the other guy (don't speed and watch the road in the wet). Taught me nothing. I always expect the unexpected, even when I'm not expecting it. There's nothing anyone could have done to avoid it. I could have headed for the ditch, but was hoping to take the hit or have him scoot just behind me, which didn't happen. If i'd gone ditch, it'd have rolled for sure as steep and wet as it was (we would have tangled in the ditch, he was gonna hit me sooner or later). At those speeds with the limited traction, inertia is king. If I had it to do over, I'd do it exactly the same. As someone else stated, property all has a value, human/animal lives (to most) do not.

Traveling with a strange, errr...cat, is always bad karma, dude. Glad you made it out safely.
