Dead Battery.... Fuse is the issue
Hello All...
So background I normally drive my 4runner every day with maybe the odd exception of not driving it for one day during the week.... I just come back from holiday and my runner dead. put in a new battery and the check for draw.. boy oh boy do we have draw. we have .09 amps. so now I pull some fuses nothing drops the draw except for the fuse that labelled "Dome Light" according the manual that fuse only powers all the interior lights.... in reality it also power the radio and power locks.
Sooo the question is
1. Does anybody have a wiring diagram of that dome light system...
2. does anybody know what is all on that dome light system
thanks in advance
Jeff

2. On a 2000 4Runner (please give year when asking for electric info, ALWAYS!!!)
Auto Antenna
Cigarette Lighter and Clock
Combination Meter
Headlight (w/ Daytime Running Light)
Interior Light
Radio and Player
You probably have an early 3Gen, as door locks are not on DOME circuit from '99 on. Just goes to show why we need the year.

Thanks for the info durk. muchly appreciated. it is a 97 btw
I had no idea so much was on this system.. Toyota should have just named it "random stuff" circuit..
I did solve this issue late night (or early this morning) turning out the previous owner installed a satellite radio system and left the receiver inside the dash still connected to power on the dome circuit.. needles to say I know have a metal target to shoot at lol...
thanks again for everyone who took the time to read this post and thanks to the folks who chimed in to help

And yes, destroy everything that causes problems on our trucks. Toyota's are supposed to be bullet-proof until people add more things to break.
