If you must absolutely do wood grain, take the time and learn how to apply a vinyl film. MUCH MUCH better results, and way more durable than any paint finish over plastic. They also have various carbon fiber patterns, which I've seen in person, and do look quite nice.

Thats because its not made for anything specific. You have to cut it to fit.

But i still say no to any wood, or anything that resembles wood. It just looks so tacky imo. Keep it on the side of station wagons and in the minivans
