CV joints

I need to change the CV joints & wheel bearings on my '94 'runner. How easy is it??
Never done something like this before but have a reasonable mechanical knowledge and a well stocked tool box :laugh4:

I removed my blown drivers side CV Joint last night. First time I've ever done anything like this.

It's pretty easy. VERY MESSY.. the CV Axle grease is messing and smelly.

I'd say it took about an hour and half each side.

Instead of just changing the joint you might want to check the price of complete axles, sometimes you can get them with both joints for not much more money. Makes it a lot less work and mess.

Here's a write-up on the wheel bearings:

This one is a little better:

While you have the hub off it's a good time to turn or replace your brake rotors too.
