Cv axle removal tool?

Cv axle removal tool?
I need to replace my cv axles and don't feel comfortable using a pry bar. I was wondering if this tool I found on eBay would work? It seems that there are different sizes out there.

A small pry bar with gentle persuasion pops the CV right out. The CV has a couple of indents 180 deg apart that catches the bar or just place it in the gap between the CV and the diff. It does not take a whole lot of force to pop the CV out especially if your rotate the CV and pry like every 60-90 degrees.
Here is habanero removing hers in post 310. I remove mine the same way. The FSM recommends using a brass drift placed in the indent and a hammer.
Another thread showing the indents, etc. From another forum....a nice how-to.
That said, the tool you show should work too.

I would be curious just how you would get the slide hammer type tool in against the differential.If you do get this please tell us how it works
I popped mine out with a pry bar about 14" long if you rotate as you pry they pop right out.

I'm with Oregon on this one. I use a 36" pry bar at work. Finger pressure and the axle pops out. If I happen to bend the dust shield in the process, i straighten it out. No big deal.
On another note though, I have found that the newer axles are definitely held in much more stoutly than the older ones. With the previous generation tacomas and 4runners, I could usually use a longer screw driver to pop them out, but I've noticed with the new trucks, it takes a bit of persuasion, and sometimes, trying a spot, then rotating to a new spot

Well, rented the tool but didn't even use it. I wanted to have just in case. This job was as easy as everyone said it would be. I think having an extra pair of hands made all the difference. First side took us an hour and the second about 30 minutes. Thanks for the advice on changing these.
