Nice sliders Bandit! Those are a really nice design and the plating looks great. Well have to test those out at the Mounds this summer.

O.K., so after washing the truck this past weekend, I discovered that some of you were right. The water did puddle up on the plates, and fill the depression with water, worse than I thought it would. Easy fix though, I will just drill a couple of 1/4" holes in the corner of each plate.

So, if you decide to do something similar with your sliders, make sure to include some type of drain holes/slots in your design.

I drilled all those holes with a hand drill.

Just kidding, found the steel at my local hardware store. Here is the top view.

This is a very worthwhile modification. It significantly helps prevent rock chips on desert roads.

I know the feeling. The more modifications I find online the more I feel I have to do!

The paint is regular spray paint...can't remember the brand but it's metallic black. And there's a 1" wide strip of grip tape down the outside bar. The grip tape is pretty much never coming off, so when I repaint the sliders I cover the griptape with 1" wide blue masking tape, then peel it off after painting--works perfect!
