custom intake good or bad idea

I don't think 3'' PVC drain pipe is a good idea, because the pipe will stink like hell under excessive heat, and the pipe will possibly melt under all that heat; considering its right above the exhaust manifold.

I don't thinnk that it will melt. Drain pipe is designed to with stand boiling water temperatures. And the normal motor only runs at around 140 degrees. There is considerable room between the exhuatst manifold and the intake. The other plastic part there don't melt and neither did the plumbing connector on the last model of intake I did.

i just got my intake made out of exhaust tube all i spent was 25bucks works great goin to order a intake wrap from jegs by the way i just got the pipe used all the stock hoses i had to use 2-1/2 pipe the hood didint close with 3inch lol ill have 2 find a way 2 get some cold air in the motor rather than the hot engine air
