Custom Bumper I built for my 99 limited

Hi all. This is my first post here. I am a metal fabricator from Connecticut. In May purchased a flawless black 99 limited with 72k on it and it has the center locking diff and rear e-locker! I was planning on leaving it stock, because it was actually too nice to mess with. Anyways that all went out the window when a 19 year old girl pulled out in front of me and took out my front bumper. I got lucky because she destroyed my bumper and fender, but there was zero frame damage and very minimal unibody damage. So I took the insurance check and banked it and built my own front bumper, scored a sport hood, and found a fender at a junk yard. Just waiting on getting it painted. I am going to paint all the silver black to match the truck. Well heres the bumper. I stole alot of ideas from the shrockworks but it is still very different. I also utilized the stock fog lights which is nice because I did not have to alter the wiring at all. Also note the blinkers behind grill. I was planning on a winch, and will get one, but they are expensive and I just started college at the age of 24. Anyways here it is enjoy.

Thanks! I am holding off on making items for anyone else at this time. I found after making this one why companies like shrockworks charges $1,200. Its because it costs $1,200 in labor alone. It took me about a week working 2 to 3 hours a night to get it right. The fog light housings alone took 2 nights.

outstanding sir. Clean almost non existent lines. Also can't wait to see that painted.

That is a fine first effort that would surpass anything most of us could ever hope to accomplish. Some may chime in for slight improvements that you already thought over and ruled out. I would have gone for a bit more side corner coverage-but I see the obvious improvement in approach angle.

The turn signals are still in the bumper then? those small lower lights

Can't wait to see what you come up with for a rear bumper and/or tire carrier please please....

I think as you younger guys say "sick" -that is sick in a good way I mean.

Just remember that the reason that you didn't have frame damage is because the bumper did it's job absorbing the impact. Too much reinforcement, and all the energy from an accident will not be absorbed and transferred into the frame.

That's really good work! I like how clean it is, and the stock fogs built in are sweet!

WOW, nice job there and especially for the first time. I really like how the sides meet the flares. You'd be backed up with orders here if you start to market that thing. Add signals ILO of the fogs or make it adaptable for some kind of 6" round driving light and winch applicable. Great start!

If you go back to the JY see if they have a passenger side 99-02 headlight, I need one BAD!

That thing will look perfect after paint! Great job. People will think twice before pulling out in front of you now.
