Cruise and brake warning problem

I just picked up a '96 T100SR5 xtra-cab 4x4...Glad to be a new member of the 'Yota nation. The problem I'm having is this...The cruise isn't working although the light comes on and the cable seems fine. Also, the brake warning light is always on even though all brake functions seem fine. As I was beginning to track these problems I found in the owners manual a fuse common to both systems. Aha...a simple solution...nope. The fuse indicated in the manual doesn't exist in the fuse box. There's a place for it but no fuse and no contacts to accept a fuse. Fuse #22 as shown in the manual. Before I start to dig deeper I thought I'd ask here if anyone has had this problem or knows about the missing fuse. Thanks for any help...Mike

Don't know much about cruise control, but the most common cause of the brake warning light staying on is low fluid level in the master cylinder. Make sure that's full and see if the light goes off.
Maybe the cruise won't work because of the brake light

Master cylinder isn't topped off but isn't far below the mark...closer to the "max" mark than the "min". I'll top it off tomorrow...didn't have any DOT 3 on hand. I doubt that's the problem though, but I've been wrong before.

The engine is the 3.4 mated to the 5spd...Discovered a fuel leak today after a fill-up. Let the games begin...

Yes this is a Toyota safety feature. No cruise when low fluid is tripped.

Problem solved...Thanks to "97 BlueSR5V6" and "Eric-The-Red". I topped off the fluid this morning... warning light off, cruise is working. It's amazing how little fluid it took to correct the problem...about 1oz. As for me...wrong again. Thanks again, Mike
