Could this be a wheel problem?

Could this be a wheel problem?
I've had the Runner for a while now. There's a little problem that's starting to bug me. I've noticed that under hard braking it feels like the wheel is shaking. Also i would have to hold the wheel to make it brake in a straight line. Could this be the wheel bearing? or another problem? how would i know if it's the wheel bearing? i know replacing that could be a PITA. i took the t4r for a wheel alignment to see if it would change anything but problem stayed the same.i don't really know what's up with my t4r.

Steering wheel shaking under hard braking is usually a sign of warped rotors. The 4Runner OEM rotors are prone to warping. If you do a search, you'll find a lot of info on this.
Many forum members have replaced their OEM rotors with Brembo standard rotors and various brands of brake pads, although I consider the OEM pads to be decent. I currently am using the Performance Friction pads and find them to be a mild improvement over the OEM. Research this and I think that, once you know what you're looking to upgrade to, you can call around to various shops and get a good price (assuming you don't intend on doing the work yourself).
I paid about $100 for the 2 rotors (incl shipping) and $29 for the pads at Autozone.
