Cool Bike Rack?

Hi guys, planning to get a hitch bike rack, and saw a LEXUS 330 had a very nice bike rack today. The bike rack comes with a big fat cylinder tube instead of the regular square vertical tube. Has anyone seen something similar? Do anyone knows what brand that is? Really appreicated!

You can scan Yakima.com or Thule.com for racks, I think the Sportworks is about the best hitch mount tho.

I have tons of yakima stuff so I'm staying with it. I have a Hitchfork which i use often, I like it alot.

Aside from Sportworks (the holy grail of bike racks) I think this rack is the second best choice.
http://www.softride.com/product.asp?p=40
The Softride racks use a parallelogram design to keep the bikes level when you lower them (all others just tilt the bikes at an angle, very harsh, see the second picture). I'm getting (hopefully) the Pull Pin version for my birthday in a few weeks. They also make one with a foot release (Access DX) but I think its more inclined to trip accidentally. Proof being that the top of the line (Access HD) still uses a pull pin release.

Man, I should get commission for this

I like my rack. It folds down also and it is very clean and simple.

I've tried all kinds of hitch mount and roof racks, there simply is no better rack than the SportWorks Transport. Bike can be loaded in seconds, no wheel removal or straps to deal with and they as solid as a brick ˟˟˟˟˟ house. http://bicycleracks.com/stindex.asp

Those are great racks!

Damn! 24 spoke wheels? You must be one lightweight mofo. I have a hard time keeping 36 spokes straight.

I probably would if my front wheels were quick release but both my bikes are thru-axle. Only problem is you have to affix the QR receiver to the floor somehow (drilling, etc.). I'd rather not
I forgot to mention that the Softride rack's arms detach easily so they don't stick out for daily driving.

Sportworks was just acquired by Thule FWIW. I concur that their racks are the best on the market for hitch-mount.

BTW: I use 28 spoke rims and they hold up fine.

It's more about proper tension than number of spokes....

I made a very inexpensive rack for my 3rd generation before I had a rack on top that consisted of a board that fit from wheel well to wheel well with two quick locks screwed on, and you can get them at pretty much any bike store at a very low cost. If your not needing to carry more than two people and two bikes this set up works great at the absolute cheapest price.

Ahh, nice to see another Enduro. You'll appreciate this:

Some idiot turned in front of us on the 101 on our way to Sea Otter. My rear wheel snapped and the frame bent. Car was totaled, hence my newly acquired 4Runner.

Saris is the brand on the lable. I think it's about a $350 rack and any bike shop can order it because it was out of the Quality Bicycle Parts cataloge that everyone uses a a primary parts suplier. Another cool thing about my rack, it has 3 point retension rather than 2 via plastic stableizer to keep the bikes from swinging.

YIKES! I was going to ask how you did that riding but then I read the rest of the post.

Looks like you were running a Sway-A-Way Coilover on that bike.

Everything else is pretty much okay except for scratches. It was an '03 Enduro Comp with the Romic, stiffer springs in the Psylo XC and a new stem. When I et the money I might spring for the new gen. frame (like yours). It's soooooo nice
