Osram +50 is a nice upgrade from stock - The bulbs last approximately 10 to 14 months depending on how much night driving you do. The low beam will probably burn out first - that's been my experience anyway.
Whatever you do, my personal advise is not to order from suvlights.com. I had the most horrible experience there and the owner of that site even came here to YotaTech flaming other users because they didn't like his products. I absolutely do not see how his so-called "company" even was hoping of receiving repeat customers.

Just a word of warning...

I'm sure you can find " matching " bulbs for the corners... LED's would look SWEET.

As for the Runner... YES. It's running HIR's. I had some POS PIAA's before. What a gip.

Andrey, sorry to hear about your run in with J. Liu, the owner, but I've dealt with his company on three occassions and have talked to him twice and was very pleased on all occassions. I've found his prices to be right and I've always received the products within two to three weeks after ordering. I wasn't aware that he ever posted on this site.

I guess I should have explained that time element - I don't use paypal so I order and then send a cashier's check - US Postal Service probably takes 5/6 days of that total time period, so a 2 week period is about right. Once it was a little slow so I called him and I forget what the reason for the delay was but whatever it was, it sounded reasonable and he said I'd have it in a couple days, which I did, so I'm very happy with the company. Just my experience with the company and the owner.

I converted my stock bulbs to Silverstar about 14 months ago and I like them. Much whiter and brighter than the bulbs that were in there. I drive at night everyday going to work and I haven't had to replace one yet. <knock on wood>. To me they were a worthwhile and reasonably inexpensive upgrade. I looked into an HID upgrade, but $500 was too much. What helped me the most was getting the lights adjusted. The person before me had them adjusted to shine too far in front.

If the filament is heating up more, does this shorten the life of the bulb?

My SilverStars are shining bring after one year and four months give or take a few days. My friend has him in his Jetta and we went out and bought them and replaced them the same day. He is still on the same set of bulbs.
I have DRL still. Can't find any box to disable them by. I searched the pages and looked in my truck to no avail.

Freak: I think that the DRL disabling procedure changed on the '01 and up models so now you actually have to clip a wire under the dash someplace. I'm sure someone here will chime in with the exact instructions. I've been trying to work up the nerve to do this as I want to get a set of Silverstars but I'm not sure I want them burning all day. Does anyone know if the DRLs are actually operating at a lower current/voltage that might not reduce the life of the builbs that much?

One more question, do they make Silverstars in the correct size for the factory driving lights? I would prefer to have them be the same temp/brightness as the headlights if I'm going to make the change. Finally, what sizes are the headlight and driving light bulbs? I can never remember....

Thanks,

Drivie

I'll wait for someone to chime in.
My SilverStars are going for a year and 4 months even with DRL's
I say get 'em anyway. Do one and turn on the lights and go look at the difference.
