Coming to AMERICA: vehicles disabled by remote controls

Now, it's 3 in the morning and not a soul on the road in places, and you can't safely ease through the light because of that camera. Some lights are soooo long too, you see alot of people flying down the blocks to get the light.

If this happens, then I'll have to invest in an antique car that this technology wouldn't be able to manipulate, and just drive my 4Runner occasionally. From the looks of it, things are going the wrong way as far as right to privacy is concerned. They are probably going to equip new cars with things that make it easier for remote access, so I think a new car for me is out of the question. Whatever happened to live and let live? Things would be a lot more simpler.

I saw it being tested on "Gizmos&Gadgets" on TLC or Discovery channel.

As Bob mentioned... this is one of those things that has great potential.
There are some agencies that do not allow their officers to pursue the bad guys - stupid PR policy if you ask me, 99% of the time the drivers that run are the ones that have more than just the traffic violation...
Then again, it just takes one overstressed and overzealous cop to do something wrong that will freak out the entire world.

u know, i bet some of you guys didnt know this--- but... i have actually installed several satellite tracking systems into cars for dealers, the purpose is to track your car by computer and if you dont pay your bill on time.....no driving the car. I have actually seen the computer program that shows the location of all the cars, where they have been, what speed they are going, the engine RPM and even has an option of a satellite photograph of the car and the location of the car-- whats neat about the system is that it is redundant, meaning, if you decide to park in a garage to circumvent the satellite signal, the system switches to cellular triangulation to acquire your location. there is even an output ( which i havent been asked to connect YET ) which interrupts the fuel pump... i bet some of you have this system and u dont know it either....heh heh heh.
its so small that it can be placed in a purse or something also-- enabling a parent to track their kid, significant other, anyone they dont like....big brother is already out there, it just wasnt until this news article was published that people became aware of it.

Having to live in "The auto theft capital of the english speaking world" is a bit nerve racking and now we have what is known as 'bait cars'. Normal looking vehicles are parked in shopping malls, or parking lots throughout the area waiting for a coke head to break in and (try to ) take off. A few minutes later, while under supervision of hidden cameras inside the vehicle, the authorites close in. GPS gives out the coordinates and the officers toy with the suspects minds by telling the crook(s) to hurry and finish their Club Macs before they get stopped as they won't have any food for a few hours. Shortly after that, the engine is killed and the cops swarm the vehicle. It's great! Auto theft is dropping and with luck, insurance premiums will stop climbing, because nobody knows which cars are booby trapped.

If that link doesn't work, check out http://www.icbc.com and search for 'bait car'.

I like the first one cause it was bad in all it's glory and was the first movie to be based around imports and was hilarious in all it's inaccuracies and cheesiness but the 2nd was just more of the first and it could only be pulled off once even tho' the 2nd did still pull in $125mil.
Also the 1st one launched a huge wave of ricemobiles upon society and the NOS becoming it's own word - "Nawwwwws"
