Coin tray issue
Any of you guys have the annoying little coin tray slide out when wheeling or just even driving around town? I do keep change in there, so it is useful, but it sure is annoying when it slides open by itself.
I'm going to attempt a fix tonight.
Here is what I'm talking about:

here's how you fix it..
take the tray out.
there should be a screw holding the metal guide tray in. ...take it out and then take the metal guide out.
to fix the problem, bend the sides of guide down on the edges so they hug the sides of the tray more tightly.
put tray guide back in ....put screw back in .....put tray back in
take the tray out.

Have yet to have this problem (knock on wood)
I also did this mod: Ashtray Mod
Not really a mod per say, but it works. I don't hear my change rattling around any more.

Coin tray? In a 2001?
Am I just having a really odd day or does my 2001 SR5 have a coin tray with a spring. And yes I searched the owners manual. The closest I have is a "rack" in the top compartment of the armrest. I know they changed the armrest around 1999 so maybe a 2001 does not have a true coin tray?

The only time I really need a bunch of change is when I wash my truck. Use quarters only around here. Mike

I attached a picture to the first post to clarify what we're all talking about.
Anyway, I've been so busy that I have not had time to do this yet. Maybe this weekend. Meanwhile, the tray keeps sliding...

This happened in my tacoma, you know the peice of metal you have to press down to remove the ash tray? Remove it, pull UP on it, it will bend back some, now slide it back in. It stays in. Worked for me, no high tech solutions involving velcro and silicon necessary.
