Coils vs. Leafs Pro's and Con's
Just wondering what your guys' opinion is on which is better, for what reason? And which is worse.
Was thinkin of this cuz I overheard the guys in the cubicle across from me talking about leaf springs and solid axles
They work in the chasis department:cry: I wanna work there!!

yea but they're busy right now, so I thought I'd get a little info, and then go into a conversation with them with some knowledge of what I'm talking about it my head.
keep in mind that I have no clue about either so if you are to explain something, please explain well. Thank you!

Coils require more engineering for links, lengths, separation distances and the like.
Leaves are more bolt and go, relatively speaking.
In the end, I think that you can make them flex, ride and handle about the same with some work.

leaf springs: cheap, easy to work with, but only flex well typically under loads
coil springs: expensive, requires control arms, but flex without weight on a wheel since they always push down
