Clutch Holding instead of Ebrake
Not your typical argument thread on what better and which to use.. Ha if i used just my clutch my truck would be destroyed anyways..
So I'm outside waiting in my truck for my friend to get some money to buy a keg and I'm parked on a pretty slight incline maybe 10 degrees tops. I turn off the engine and put it in first and just let it sit. It stays put for about 10 seconds then i feel a little jerk backwards. 5 seconds later another little slip of the clutch. each time i'm maybe moving backwards a few inches but is this normal, i dont think so? do i need to adjust something? enlighten me
this is the first time i've witnessed this in my truck. i dont think my clutch is going out because I put the e-brake on and let the clutch up in 1st and it stalled out plain and simple.

Are you sure you were in 1st sitting there? Sounds like the motor turning a bit and not the clutch slipping.
99% of the time I use my e-brake and then but it in gear. I do the same with auto as well. Hold the brake, apply the e and put it in park. Keeps the weight of the car off the trans...

There have been times I thought I was in 1st and was in 3rd and the motor would turn a time or two on a slight incline. I have also had it happen in 1st but it was quite a steep hill.
