Clunk when braking

I have a '02 4runner that makes one clunk noise (which sounds like its coming from the front brakes) when I first start using my brakes. It happens when I start driving and the one clunk whenever iI hit the brakes and happens untill everything warms up i geuss, but then when I put it in reverse the same thing happens, then when I put it back in drive it seems to start the cycle of clunking over again. Any ideas???

Lemme see..........

Loose lug nuts
Worn front Bearings
Worn Spindle
Damaged Rotor
Loose caliper.

This is what I would check first.

Just sayin................

Sounds like your brake pads are shifting.

yeah i get the clunk too. esp at a stop and i let go of the brakes. i checked the calipers (just changed the pads and it still does it). its not the clank you get from pads shifting, its a noticable thump. i was told it could be the drive shaft just giving bc its bound from the stop (if that makes sense) i am assuming they were talking about the (due to lack of termonology) compresion shaft part where it slides in and out. its in when you brake and when yout take off it comes out making the thump. i grease them well with
M1 grease every other oil change so its not from lack of greasing. i have just gotten used to it lol
