I think that what he did was awesome, how many of us realistically can do something like that? I know I can't, so why hate on something that someone did? For all we know he may still have plans to totally restore the rest of the truck and keep the sleeper look. Thumbs up from me!

I think that was the Lingenfleter S10 and it was AWD and was featured a couple of years ago in a tuner shootout in MotorTrend against some other more "traditional" sports cars and won the drag race segment.

Oh hmmm so it was a cyclone then and a Lingenfleter at that? Dizzam!

The vid I was talking about was shot about 8 months ago with a GMC 1500 full size 2003 or 2004 with the 6.0L v8 and a lot of engine work. It too got down to 10.91 with 15lbs and a 75 shot the whole run...

Was it the S10 syclone? the turbo 4.3 5 speed AWD s10 that does 4 wheel burnouts?

They never had 5 speeds, every one was an auto. When the people who built them did the prototypes in 1990 they found that if you sidestepped the clutch under boost it would grenade parts to easily with so much traction. An in law of mine built a 10 second syclone for a customer, first time i got to ride i thought i was gonna have a heart attack.

Superrunner, i think its a sweet project, but i still dont know how you are gonna get traction when you do a boosted launch. Even with slicks i dont see it happening, unless you ran in 4wd, which is hard without a t-case. It should make for a fun driver though, i wish i had to time to build unconventional projects like that.

I don't think it will be a viper killer cause the pickup has too much wind resistance. But, it will turn a head or two. Tell you what, that phat layed out momma jamma will eat air like no one's business. I suggest a FAA rating cause, you will own the skies when you take off your first burm or jump. Remember the red light is on the pilots side *drivers and the green one for the passenger. Good luck and try to keep the right side up. NEED ROLE BAR!

I think the wind resistance will only be a factor at REALLY high speeds, at which NO ONE has any business going that fast in a pickup truck.. much less one w/o a roll CAGE ( not a role? bar).

550 rwhp is enough to eat up PLENTY of stock Vipers... esp. since it looks like he's going to have the PWR-Weight ratio advantage. The question is.... how do you keep them from hearing the turbo spool? That always lost me $$$ back in my stupid days of racing for $$$ at the drag strip... I was good in my Supra or my RX-7 until they heard the turbo spool...

I think hearing the turbo spool gets to some V8 owners but what usually got them to back away from races with me was the AWD part since they knew they couldn't hook up on street rubber and I hate the doofs who wanted to "race from a roll".

I had an idea about dropping a goodwill couch in the back of the international traveller I had when I was 16, old skool third row seating.

SuperRunner, any updates or kill stories????

You could sounds deaden fenders and hood to reduce the turbo noise and chop it a few inches to reduce wind resistance.

When you put the hood back on, make sure to leave the headlight dangling.

The pistons I got were not the ones that I ordered. This causes my rings to be only slightly too large. Small enough to fit in the cylinder, but not enough room for expansion. Caused the rings to burn up with only about an hour of running time on the motor.

I will have it ready for the drags when they open in the spring.
