Check Enging Light/VSC Off/VSC Trac

Hey guys,

Driving the '02 SR5 runner on the highway yesterday and all of a sudden my check engine light came on and so did the VSC Off and VSC Trac light.
Everything still seems to be running fine.
I did preform the mod with a switch to turn the VSC off a couple of years ago; however it usually turns the ABS off too (the ABS light will come on). I checked this switch and it is off.

Any ideas what this may be?!!?!?!

Yup-sorry! My Bad...

Code P0446 from AutoZone
-'malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for the vent control in the evoprative emission control system.'

Any suggestions or just take it in?

Sounds like the evap canister is having issues. Did you overfill you truck recently or not tighten the gas cap.

The VSC/TRAC lights trip by default when the CEL goes off. So whenever the CEL lights up, you will see VSC/TRAC light up with it. The system disables the system as a safety precaution.

I've got the same error code too, I may have not tighten the gas cap all the way during a refill. However, if there is in fact a problem with this system, if I continue to drive the truck until I get my mechanic to check the 4Runner, will that cause any additional problems? Thanks.
