Amorphous:

Come on man... you've been around long enough to know the answer! SEARCH!!!

All joking aside - a local auto supply store may be able to pull the codes OR you could check out Harbor Freight tools online and get a generic code reader for $40.

so, I can go to Harbor Freight, get a code reader and pinpoint my problem for $40? Or I can drive 30 minutes and go to the only dealership in town that's not on strike and pay $60 and possibly get the runaround?
FOR REAL?

I bought a OBD-II code reader on ebay for $40. It works fine and pinpointed which O2 sensor was bad.. also i got a engine misfire code.. it told exactly which cylinder was affected. I replaced spark plugs and it was fixed. It's well worth the $40 investment IMO. Good luck.

Precisely!
I have a CEL I've been living with on and off for the last 5 months. The code reader has been very helpful in letting me know what the problem is each time. Fortunately, it's not threatening so I'll get to it when I can...

Bad coil pack #3 - should be fixed shortly (by my own hands!)

I would still suggest a code reader being added to your tool kit unless you have an autozone nearby that will read it for free.

Coil pack for the 3.4 wa$ 85 plus tax. Not terrible...i'm sure I could have found it cheaper on the 'net...but....it was done within 20 minutes....beats the $275 they wanted to install it (that's with the part)
