I was looking at the Huskyliners and such ($65 +) and found a basic one for a mere $13.99 at Walmart. It's not a custom perfect fit but a few snips with a pair of scissors and your'e good to go.

It's nothing fancy but for $14 it does the job. Also scored a set of the thick type floor matts for $16 a pair vs $40 + from the stealership and other off road places.

I bought the front floor mats from wal mart and like em. But for the rear, I have an 87 4runner, I went to hardware store and bought some carpet saver. I riveted two strips together, painted the bottom black and then cut it to the exact shape. So far so good it does it's job.

Unless someone wants to surprise me with an early Christmas present (hint hint) my el cheapo liner will do just fine.

I had Husky's on my F150 and they were slippery -- with wet shoes, it was tough to climb into the cab because your feet would slip. Called Husky about it and they basically said I didn't know what I was talking about, but didn't offer any suggestions to improve the grip. Checked out other Husky products and found them to be the same.

So, for the cargo mat in the 4Runner, I bought WeatherTech -- much better grip than Husky, IMHO.

I had OEM mats front to cargo and just got in my Husky's front to cargo and I can't see why I ever even bothered getting OEM mats in the first place. If you don't have a set of Husky's throughout...well, you don't know what you're missing.

You put something in your cargo area that is nasty or dirty, like a pair of muddy shoes and that el cheapo cargo mat ain't going to do much to keep the dirt from just sliding off the mat onto your nice carpet.

Husky's are worth every penny you pay for them IMHO.

My truck had husky's in it when I bought it, and they were the first thing I got rid of. My brother had some Walmart liners like in the pics above, so we swapped. A week after, he wanted to swap back but I said no way. Those husky's are just too slippery for my tastes. I need a mat that'll hold my foot in place while its on the accelerator, plus not much gets out of those walmart mats since the grooves are so deep. IMO, the only reason huskies are so expensive is cuz of the name.

I have the Walmart version too and for $19.99 you can't beat them. I have a Canvasback for the rear cargo area.

Canvasback

I had one of the Canvasbacks in my 93 Runner for years. It covers the backs of the rear seats when they are folded down. Also I prefer this because it is kinda slick and when you are loading big things like furniture etc., they slide right in instead of getting stuck on a rubber mat.
The canvasbacks are acid resistant.....I found this out when a friends 12 volt trolling motor battery decided to spew on the drive home from a fishing trip.

how does the canvasback attach to the seatbacks? This is the type of thing I'm looking for because I fold down the seats alot and need the 60/40 split for occaisional passenger, etc.

When are my Husky mats going to Get here. I saw pics of them online, and knew thats what I had to have. Too bad they where backordered for the 03 4runner, Hopefully mine get here soon.

I have the factory mats also, but they get dirty real easy, but they'll probably stay below for extra insulation

You will need to take out your factory mats when you get your huskys...they recommend it so that your custom mats fit perfectly! I tried it the other way too before I took out the OEM mats because it just looked too bulky. Especially in the driver's side where that little thing sticks up to hold your mat in place.

Just take out your OEM mats and sell them on Ebay for some more mod money!

They are custom made to cover the top 1/4 of the seat back with a zipper that runs from the back floor over the top of the seat.
So, you can have one or both back seats down and still covered.

The only problem I have found is the adhesive on their velcro strips doesn't hold very long. Just be sure and clean all the surfaces with alcohol real good before applying. On my 93 the adhesive let go after a couple years but they make them to fit nicely over the wheel wells and the Cover kind of molded itself to the contours and stayed in place.

The floor mats that Ant has are great. I got my set, front and back, for about $19 at Costco.

My 4runner also had the Husky mats in front to back. They are to slippery, and I don't like the look of diamond plate so plastic diamond plate had to go. I got some thick black universal rubber mats. I left the cargo area mat in place because I don't have to look at it plus I don't feel bad hauling dirty car part around on it.
