changes in Rear 4runner hatches

I have a 2002 sport edition 4runner of which I am still trying to get fixed from flipping it at uwharrie. I have been told now that I need a new hatch, the dents in mine are just too difficult to pull. I was going to try and find a junkyard one to use to save money and I was wondering what year hatches match mine. I know some had the 4runner logo above the license plate but other than that I think the design was the same. Any help and or pics would be appreciated.

^not as much as duct tape

i think you just need to have that stupid 3rd brake light and any 3rd gen hatch should match

96-02 are the same, as long as they have the spoiler. The emblems are stick on anyways. HOWEVER Try and find an SR5 gate, since the wiring is slightly different for the LTD.

Wiring is totally different from 96-98 to 99-02 and the license plate bezel is also different. The metal is the same though. I have used a newer one on one that was damaged and had to change all wiring to make it work from damaged one.
