I have not had any problems with the 6 but i have also not pulled them to see what they look like yet either.
I am taking my experience from MR2's any applying it to the 4runner. In the MR2 if you use 2 steps colder the plugs get fouled VERY fast. Usually you get reduced performance within a few hundred miles.
I am running water/meth injection though so not sure how a 1 step colder would work without that. I plan to stick with 1 step colder plugs in my truck though unless these plugs look like they are too hot when i pull them out.

I ordered up 6 NGK BKR6EK PB-11 to try. They are double platinum plugs (2 ground straps which are platinum tipped also), they are expensive at $10 each and a step hotter than I'd prefer but there just isn't a good choice for a 2 step cooler plug for the 5VZFE IMHO. Very frustrating but hopefully these will work out.

You run water injection right? you should be ok, if you were on plain gas and pullyed think i would stick to 2 steps cooler till it is proven ok on plain pump gas.

Dale,
I thought you were looking into getting some Denso plugs from overseas? Did that never materialize?
BTW, where have you been hiding out? Somewhere that has AC hopefully. A friend in Tulsa says hell has nothing on the hot heat in OK at the moment.

Yeah what a heat wave, but I just got back from Breckenridge CO and 2 trails had so much snow I couldn't get through to the top. Nice a cool up there (about 10,000 ft).

New plugs are ready to go in, I like that the tip (top) doesn't unscrew. Some have reported the tips unscrewing during use and causing problems (other types of plugs)
