Thanks Waskilly,
I still get updates when someone responds to a link I am involved in.
Since the really interesting areas of this forum disappeared, so did I.
Planning a 3K mile road trip from LA to Yellowstone, Rocky Mtn. Nat Park, Colorado Springs, Crested Butte, Mesa Verde, Monument Valley, Grand Canyon North Rim, Page, Bryce, Zion and back home. Should take just over 3 weeks, and add many pics to my flickr site. Click below to see where we have been lately.
Hope all is well with your family and pray your faith has deepened over these past few years.

Great sleeping platform, functional, solid and obviously pleasing to the eyes. How many sheets of plywood did the entire platform consume during construction? During the next month I will be making a number of trips south (GA,SC,NC)for weddings (3 different ones)and a surf trip and would like to make sleeping in the back and keeping organized a bit easier.....Thanks in advance.

First of all, Sorry it took so long to reply.
Second, I really don't know the answer to the above question.
You could look at the drawings posted in #29 and add it up.
Also just about everything but the drawer bottoms and dividers is 3/4" plywood. The bottoms are 1/2" plywood and dividers are 1/8" tempered masonite.

Finished my cargo box mod
Thanks for the inspiration, SkyRat. Mine is not nearly as nice as yours, but it is functional and has 36" drawers. I could not use drawer sliders because of the length of the drawers, but it works great as is. Nothing too heavy in there, and I can prop up the drawers if I need to. Now that I have the suspension done, and it is in tip-top shape, I will be taking my first trip in this rig on the day after Labor Day - 3 weeks up to Portland and then to Olympic National Park and back down the coast to home. Can't wait.
