definitely try to get them fitted locally, becuase you don't want to go through the hassle of shipping them back to wheelers if they rub!

I have the Lexus wheels which are basically the same ones that are on the Land Cruisers. The only rubbing issue I had was on the front valence, but with you having a '98 you may not rub at all...if you do it'll just be some minor grinding on the pinchweld.

Hopefully that will do it for you.

I would look into getting some of the Land Cruiser/Lexus wheels, they look great, if you don't find the black steelies you are looking for locally.

Good luck, post pics when you get it straightened out.

Grinding the upper a-arm is much easier imho, only takes 5 minutes.

Good point Kyle! IIRC, they're hollow inside, so need to be welded!

5 inch backspace is too much right? i thought so...

what about 4.25? would that fit?

im in the middle of final projects, midterms, large papers. my dorm room looks like a "dirty" bomb went off...

anyway, your help on this would be much appreciated. thanks!!!

they are 16x8, 4.5 inch bs, 6-5.5

im getting them installed friday hopefully.

well see how this goes...

16x8 with 3.5" BS would have been better. Then you could have run 315's someday.

Alot less expensive? I am a Total Chaos Dealer and their upper arms are 3 times more expensive.

$250.00 for modified stock arms and $650 for the Total Chaos UCA's.

Where are you getting this data? What you posted is completely incorrect.

well, either way im extremely happy with what i got. i have some rubbing issues in the rear too, which is strange to me, but not a huge deal. front rubbing wasnt bad, and barely noticed it.

in the next three weeks i will be putting it to great use and will have alot more data.

Since you bought the kit from me, I would have made you a deal on a set of a-arms.

In the future guys, if you have a problem with any of my stuff, call me, don't post on the web, it will take me a month to find it, like this thread.

I guess this was not really a problem, but I could have told you how to fix it right away.

.....my advice in a case like that would have been to call SS even if you didn't buy the original parts from him because he probably has the answer and the other suspension parts you need to make your whole setup work with the minimum outlay of cash.
