can someone identify the bug guard?
So I did some searching and most of the bug guard photos that show up are all 'flat' bug guards, meaning no contours like in the one below. I'm trying to find a new one for my current four runner, as this one in the photo was lost with my old 4runner, and was on there when I bought it. Can anyone identify the make of the one below? Even the OEM ones I searched for all looked flat...

It's dark out, I will look tomorow for a brand somewhere. That's the identical one I made fit my 94 in the OP pic.
(sorry it's a little grainy of a pic with not so great lighting)

Reminds me of a Lund Interceptor II......couldn't find a pic of one to compare, though.

I looked through my records for the receipt with the part number, but it has been 12+ years, and I may have tossed it out. It did come in a Toyota box though. The TOYOTA name was molded into the bug guard on one end, but was very unobtrusive, and not easy to see unless you really looked close.
I hope that helps.
<EDIT> I found the receipt.
The part number for the genuine Toyota hood protector is/was: PT427-89970

Was going to tell you the same thing. My 98 came with one that has TOTOTA moulded into it. I even picked up the sunroof guard that helps with wind deflection and it is a TOYOTA accessory (also moulded into the plastic). Check a few yards as they do show up perodically. But if you go to Toyota parts counter they can look it up for you. Here is the Toyota Parts website and they list hood deflectors that will fit 96-02 and several other options, they all run around $70 http://www.toyotapartsstore.com/ good luck

To the OP, the picture of the deflector that you posted was an OEM Toyota one. IMO, the AVS Bugflector II is the best aftermarket deflector and is the closest looking to OEM. It is easy to install, clean, and is the same deflector that I chose when I began modding my rig.
