yeah. the 3 disc changes had poor design. a couple parts places don't even stock them anymore.

 

to make sure i'm on the right track. i can avoid the worry of pin count if i buy the amp and headunit that can work together. the only thing left is to make sure is the size can fit into the dash


which leads me to try something like: this

or try to find the two parts with the radio unit having multiple disc ability (this is a want not a need and not a deal breaker if it doesn't) and a matching amp

 

Sorry I didn't see this before that auction ended but looks like that would have worked. It looks like he relisted though.I think that is the amp I used on the Solara radio.
