Calling Steve or Mike, Suspensn Kings

Hey guys,

I think I need to get some drop brakets for my Runner now. I lifted her 2.5" about 2 months ago and I wasn't all that worried about the angles, but now I am. I tried to engauge my e-brak(something I rarely do, but I needed it on this hill parking job, and then just before I got out my e-brake just made a pop sound and dropped. I did it again and it stayed but since then it has done it a few other times. I would also just like to know that everything is dropped and at better(less stressful angles).

So after my little speal up there, can you help me and give me some prices on the panhard drop braket, and e-brake drop brakets, also prices on some new bump stops would be nice. Steve, I think you are the one that makes/sells these, please tell me I'm correct, and if not I figured you or Mike would know who did and who could help me out. Thanks guys.

Hmmm well yes Steve makes the panhard, I belive it is $75.00, however, you can check out his site as he has prices on there.

I am assuming you are running the 3.5 Downey rear springs, did you utilize the e-Brake bracket that was supplied with them?

I would be happy to get you some pricing on the bump stops...are you looking for the fronts or rears?

Thanks for the post!!

Regards,

Mike

The PanHard drop kit is $75.00

Bump stop kit is $150.00 you need my custom adapters to attach the Daystar stops to the frame.

I have 1 bumpstop kit in stock and I can make more PanHard brackets if you want one.

e-mail me: sschaefer@fastq.com

I check this board only once a week, so it would be best to e-mail me.

Okay well as for bumpstops I would like to get front and rear, but I might only be able to afford the rear, that is all I really NEED. I didn't get the Downey 3.5". I got the 2.5" coils combined with 2.5" Cornfed spacers. I didn't see then and still don't see now why I would want 3.5" in the back and 2.5" in the front. Couldyou explain that one to me Mike? Steve I will be in touch with you about these things as soon as I pay a few bill and make sure I got the extra cash. Thanks again guys.

Actually the Downey rear springs will only give you approx 2." of lift in the back if you have a tow hitch...if you do not, then you are looking at about 2.75" of lift....

Does that kinda explain what you wanted to know?? Do you want to go with the eBrake bracket as well then??

Thanks

Mike

Actually, he is a 4x2, and so that should mean that he gets 3.5, i was under the impression that it was 3.5" for a 2wd, and then 2.5-2.75" was for the 4wd.

Yeah sort of, but I believe he switched to 4WD stock front coils so then he would be working off the 4WD rear numbers.

I'm sure he has the same old Downey 48296-3 coils we all have or in my case had.

He's good to go. More of you guys should drop your panhard bars, that angle is just not right. Ask Thornton back there in VA, he'll tell you.

I don't have an official kit for the front but I can fix you up if you want them as well. You will need some spacers to raise the Daystar stops a bit on each side.

Steve -

Just to make sure, you still haven't decided to make panhard drop brackets for 2nd gen's, right? If you did, I would definitely be interested in getting one from you.

Yeah Steve, would it be similar to the one that Chris has on his page here?

You can see here the angle of my panhard rod.

That pic is from a month ago when Jeff at Badland Bumpers put my sliderz back on after the powder coat job.
He said my right tire is sticking out maybe 1/2" at the most.
I don't even notice it, but I'm just wondering if I should have a drop bracket or not just to be safe.

Downey makes a 3" one for the 2nd Gen 4Runners. YES you should get one. Quite a few people did notice that YOU did not have one when I put the 4X4Wire suspension article together in March of 2002.

The consensus was that you should have had one as well. The Downey bracket is bolt on.
