A/C Problem

For the past year or so I've noticed that the effectiveness of my A/C has been declining. The temp of the air coming from the vents is inconsistent. Looking through the site glass I see foam sometimes and I can't tell for sure, but at times it might be running dry so I know that I've lost refrigerant. Can anyone tell me if there are common points in the system for leaks to occur? How much will I be looking at to recharge the system if it has to be evacuated? Thanks.

You most likely have a leak. I'd try the canned refrigerant first, maybe get one with dye to detect leaks. Leaks occur at connectors & valves or you could have a leak in the condenser that is in front of the radiator. You may see a small oily residue in the area.

Hmm, so the 3rd gens use R134-A refrigerant?
