Buying a 94 V6 4runner with 166k...what to look for
A 1994 4Runner V6 manual is up for sale from a trusted source.
She has had the truck for 10 years and it is spotless.
She had some recent electrical work from the dealer (new column lighting switch) but other than that, has put gas and oil in it and had it serviced according to Toyota's schedule for 10 years.
I am very interested.
What should I look for with the V6 manual ???
Thanks
David

take it for a road test, look in every nook and cranny, test for loose bits inside and out, any unusual smells or smoke, operate all devices and switches, check for service paperwork to verify same, take it to a trusted mech and have a comp. test done, have the current owner drive it while you watch and listen from the curb and most of all have the vin checked to verify if the head gasket recall has been completed.
it sounds like you may have a sweet ride waiting in the wings. get busy!

Yes definetly a recall. And rear window motor prone to fail. Also check in the records for t-belt/ water pump service, I don't know why but my 90 shows a water pump replaced at 60k in the records but no t-belt service, this by a Toy dealership to boot

Even if you had to do T-belt and Head gasket it's probroly worth purchasing anyway, It's a Toyota so if it didn't overheat and oil was changed every 3000to 5000 miles it's good to go. What are going to do if you buy it, lift, tire's, SAS, or leave it alone?

Its just not comfortable enough for me on longer runs. I had a 96 which had great seats, a 99 with OK seats and the 2003 has the worse seats by far for my build (6'2" with a lot of height in my back)
Add to that the poor headroom with the sunroof and about 60 mins in to any longer run and I am squirming and my lower back is hurting.
