Question Bushings

Okay so I know that there are companys out there that sell the poly bushings for the upper control arms. Over here in Japan they do not replace the bushing they replace the entire control arm. Yes they sell a stock replacement bushing. I have not found a local source that has the polys for less than it would cost me to have them mailed in from the states. Also I do not have access to the required machine press to get the old bushings out and the new ones in. That said here are the questions:

1. If you have the poly bushings did the install improve the ride and handling?

2. Is there a shade tree mech trick to do the bushing replacement that I have not been able to find?

Thanks

I have installed the poly bushings on a friends ride. It did improve the ride but, it also made it squeak ( according to him). He was actually thinking about going back to the rubber bushing because of that. I have not heard them squeak lately and it may be a break in thing so I think he is now happy with them.
There is no back yard trick that I know of to get the old ones out or to install them. Maybe someone will have a good answer.
