yes i did a search, the only problem is I can't afford an engine rebuilt or top end rebuilt. The cars in good condition i dindt know if this was just normal for a car this old and can be lived with, or if its a major problem. what you guys think?

I get about 200 miles to a tank, so assuming you get similar mileage, you burn about a half quart in 800 miles. I've seen a lot worse than that, so if you don't want to invest any cash in it right now, drive it as is. Run straight 30W or heavier, keep it topped off and drive it til it starts spewing smoke.

To give you some perspective, the old Chevy I drove for 6 years through college burned one quart of oil every 200 miles, regular as clockwork. Don't worry about it. The worst that's likely to happen is that you'll eventually fail an emissions check. If this isn't an issue for you, just be sure to keep the oil filled.
Good luck.
Good luck.
