Bumper Mounted Foglight Question

I've all but given up on my Hella(crappy) Micro DE's as tehy keep filling up with crap and corrosion, so I have decided that I want to mount some lights along the top part of the bumper lip like this:

I have searched and found plenty of pictures of the final product but haven't been able to find any write up on how to mount them. Does anyone have a link that they could point me towards? Thanks

Drill holes in bumper, bolt on the lights and hook up some wires.

write up:

1) measure the distance of the bumper to know where you want to put the lights. If you dont wanna measure, just eyeball it.

2) drill holes

3)mount lights

4)run wires

it's not that hard really. I would have done it by now, but I really dont feel like drilling holes in my bumper

by the way, where did you buy your Micro DE's from? If they are in decent shape (maybe a picture?) I might take them off your hands.

Cool thanks. I figured it wouldn't be that hard but I was concerned with the amount of flex they'll have when mounted to the plastic. Is there a way to reinforce them so they don't shudder over bumps?

J, I got my Hella's at yellowandbluelighting.com. When they work(ed) they were great, and when they didn't, they didn't. They are in really good condition and just have some white corrosion on the inside of them but they are almost in new condition. Might have figured out why they aren't working (a short in the wiring between the relay and the Micro DE) but am not sure yet. I'll be able to tell next week when my truck's getting its lift installed. If I manage to get some good lights on my bumper before I figure out what's wrong with the Hella's I might be interesting in selling them

I am not sure what it looks like under the plastic on you bumper but if it fits you could take a piece of flat bar and sandwich the plastic between the light mounts and the flat bar. That way at least all the lights will be tied together.

Yeah I was planning on running a piece of metal under the bumper and mounting both lights to it. I think I'm gonna buy some Hella Black Magic lights - they match well with my current color scheme. Anyone had any experience with these?

well if you decide to get rid of them and they are still fixable (you just may not feel like fixing them) send me a PM. I'm wanting some to do a HID conversion.
