Thanks all,

They were not being nice giving me a heads up, they were covering there asses so they can say they told me about concerns they had, documented them and in 3 months (when there is no improvement - they have already told me they do not care what I do btw now and then, they have decided how I will perform already ) they will fire me.

Evidently, they do things this way in the hope I may resign due to the intolerable pressure I am under and save them the trouble...I have two ex employees I am in touch with who this happened to.

VA is an 'at will' state for employment laws so within reason, unless I am a minority, they can fire me 'at will'.

However, there is some life in the old dog yet...I am close to pulling off a little master stroke that may force them to give me at least 6 months or cut me a decent severance.

Thanks for all the tips...

Monster is da bomb...

Pissy thing is I am a PSIA certified Ski Instructor and have a job offer in hand for the season at Snowshoe, WV but as I am recovering from ACL replacement, teaching skiing is not an option

AS one door closes, another one will open, dangit !

I hope everything goes well with the ACL as well. I have had three ACL reconstructions on my right knee as well as 5, yes 5, other surgeries on the same knee for a total of 8. My best advice on that is to push yourself as hard as you can in therapy. The pain now is nothing compared to what it will be if you don't get your range of motion back. From one of the surgeries I got a staph infection and almost lost my leg. hey had to keep it imobile for 3 weeks, and in that time the scar tissues set in to the point it would bend. They had to do a manipulation on it, which is where they put you under and bend it for you to break the scar tissue........not fun at all.

Best of luck on all fronts. You have a bunch of guys behind you.

All this unemployment and people claim Bush is doing wonders for the economy.

Sucks about the job - I'm unemployed at the moment too. I had no warning though, my supervisor found out 30 minutes before I did. It's been a month and a half, things might be picking up soon........

Good luck!

I probably have until Feb or March tops.

I just cancelled my ski vacation to Vail, cancelled cable at home and I am selling off anything I can on eBay to get some cash cushion cos out of work is no fun folks...

Sad thing is, the first thing to go if I am out of work is the 4th gen.

Cannot justify that payment when my medical insurance premiums need paying.

Ah well, at least I had it for a while....

I was just wondering what was going on with you and your job situation. Hopefully everything is working out for you. Let us know. We are all behind you.
