Post another pic please
Can you post another picture of this setup, I lost some tank capacity recently and I want to prevent this in the future. I have a second gen and thought about welding extra plates on to the skid plate (while its off the truck).

My truck is in the shop all week, I'll post some pic's when I get a chance. Search here, TTORA and Google and you will find some write-ups on fabbing the stock skid.
Too much tweaking on the skid pan combined with added material on the bracket makes for problems. Looking at the contact spots shows the areas that need to be contoured.

Put the washer and nut on top of the cross member hole. Push the bolt through the washer applying pressure to both nut and bolt. Carefully thread the bolt with your fingers till it catches. Push the bolt up and get an open-ended wrench in there. Getting the nut snug will take a little time as the wrench throw is short. Try to get the bolt in there as the belly skid flexes and moves with big hits. It doesn’t really flex back to shape after severe use. Every mount counts

As for the spacing I removed my stock t-case brace and it was still to close. I opted for a piece of ... 1/4 steel stock on the end closest to the gas tank, and drilled 3 holes to match the pattern of the ass end of the skid.

I pulled my gas tank skid off last week, I should post some pics because its bent up about 3 inches in the center. Lost about 3-4 gals capacity in the tank. Pumped some compressed air in the tank and Boom... everything back to normal. I tried pounding the skid back into place with a 5lb sledgehammer, no luck. I'll take it to work and let our Bobcat do the trick.

I can draw it up in the plasma program. Want to meet sometime after work this week and I can start measuring.
