Bucket Seat Frame
Hello this is my first post.
I recently became a proud owner of a '99 4runner, 5spd, E-lock and Leather Seats. My question is I have a 94 4runner with cloth seats(which is IMO way more comfortable) and I know the brackets are different, but are the frame rails different? Also the seatbelt is integrated into the seat on the '99, Has anybody mounted the seatbelt to the body in the 3rd gens? The driver side seat in the '94 has more adjustments where as the 99 has doesn't plus it was in my 89 4Runner and I dont want to let it go.

NOt too sure you will be able to keep the old style seat belts. I have removed/replaced/repaired my seats in my '98 4runner so I have done everything from removal of the seat, replacement of the lower seat cushion to installing power seats which had manual before. It would be easier to swap the seats out of another 3rd gen. You could probably get a swap from someone for SR5 cloth seats for your leather ones without really any problems, I have my SR5 cloth seats in my storage unit. Heck you can't hardly give them away.
The frame rails I do believe are different. I looked at doing that with the seats I have, the holes in the floor don't line up. You could probably do a mod, but it might be more trouble then its worth, but then again, it might be something to look into. Remeber the seats are engineered to withstand collisions, in other words, if you are in a collision, they stay bolted to the floor! Reinforced flooring, welded back nuts, it could get pretty involved. Best of luck

You know, I guess I have to learn to let things go. I am wondering though, are there seats out there with the more than two adjustments, ie: lumbar, lower cushion height?. I will definitely take your advice and find a better seat. Thanks for your input
